The Deity enshrined is unknown.
The main shrine with a local feature distinctive of the late Middle Ages is designated as the prefectural tangible cultural asset. At the left side of Torii (the entrance gateway to the shrine) stand four earthen vases called "the vases of four seasons". The amount of rainwater in each vase is believed to predict whether the fortune of the year would be good or bad.
"Hige-nade festival" (in which the participants must repeatedly stroke (naderu) their false beard or mustache (hige) each time they drain their big cups of sake) is held on January 10.
